Our Collective & Committees

The Coordinating Collective

The SFU Women's Centre is run by a collective of volunteers and staff. The collective is run through consensus based decision making. This means that ALL members of the collective must agree on a decision or action before it is passed. This kind of decision making aims to encourage discussion and the participation of all collective members.

Any female SFU student (graduate or undergraduate) can sit on the women's centre collective, we just ask that they respect our 5 point mandate and mission statement. To get involved in the collective just fill out our volunteer form on the get involved page of the website and check off collective.

Collective Meeting Time

The Resource Committee

The library is managed and run by our resource committee, which runs all semester long and operates through concensus based decision making. The resource committee runs both planning meetings (where decisions are made, books are purchased and money is spent), and work parties (where we listen to music and look after the books).

Any female SFU student (graduate or undergraduate) can sit on the resource committee. To get involved in the resource committee fill out our volunteer form on the get involved page of the website and check off resource committee or e-mail womenctr2(at)sfss.ca .
