The Centre has two committees that guide its direction. Please choose one to join:

Coordinating Collective (Keeps the Centre's mandates in mind - events, overall budget, and policymaking)
Library Committee (Work with the staff and other students; focus on print and video resources)
Publishing Committee (Work with the staff and other students; translation, specials to The Peak and digest info creation)
LoungeStars Committee (Work with the staff and other students; translation, keep the lounge in sparkling order)

Availability

Now that we know what you are interested in, please take a moment to let us know when you are available. We recognize that students need to prioritize their academic work so here is the deal:

• You can volunteer for a minimum of two hours per week
• We ask you to have more than two hours of free time available so we can link you up with other volunteers for scheduling volunteer work parties; this doesn't mean that we will book you for all of them.
• We will do our best to ensure that you are assigned something that you like in order to get satisfaction.

Training

For some tasks, such as Peer Support, Discussion Leaders, and Office Work, some experience and/or training is required. We will host workshops (if budget and numbers allow) to help students build new skills.

Please let us know what you want to learn. We appreciate knowing if independent projects or group work is the best structure for you.

Ther personal information you provide will be used solely for receiving information from self-identified women in the SFU Community interested in volunteering at the Women's Centre. By providing information, you give the SFU Women's Centre consent to use this information in this way only. This information will be kept confidential and will not be sold or traded to any other organization. If you do not consent to this, please refrain from providing us with your information.
